This album was made in a whirlwind of three exciting days! It contains a modern composition of the DJ Hixxy & Vinyl Blair tune, "Meaning of Life", with an exciting UK Hardcore / Happy Hardcore rendition of the mid-boss theme from "Sonic & Knuckles" for the Sega Megadrive! Hope y'all like it!! :D

BACKGROUND

This album was originally created in the course of only three days. The songs on here are completely original compositions of two of my favourite tunes:

"Meaning of Life" was a song originally composed by DJ Hixxy and Vinyl Blair way back in the mid-90's -- during the golden age of Happy Hardcore. It's a cheerful, melodic Happy Hardcore track that well-represents the instrumental pieces of the time period.

"Infernal Machine" is based on the boss song that plays during an Act 1 boss fight at the level's halfway point between acts. This earned it the name that it's known best by: "Sonic & Knuckles' Mid-Boss Theme".

While I would've loved the opportunity to play my frikkin' game, the musician in me simply wouldn't let me. She was taking note that the song had a driving bass-line to it that was just *asking* to be made into Happy Hardcore! A decade or two later, I can finally say that I'm decently happy with the way it turned out!

Primary credits go to the original composition's artists: DJ Hixxy (Ian Hicks), Vinyl Blair, Jun Senoue, and any other composers involved in the Sonic 3 & Knuckles development cycle.

No parts of the original compositions are used. All melodies, instruments, and arrangements are either original or were recreated by ear on the piano before being readapted and rearranged into the pieces found in this composition.

As for this actual composition and personal creation, I would like to give a huge amount of thanks to Shazzaiya and GirlyGirlMusik. I would also like to give special thanks to Kai Nobuko who wrote a beautiful, inspiring review of this album. I had been in a bad rut when you wrote that review, and you are at least 50% of what pulled me out of it. I can't possibly thank you enough.

Seffi, you are the other 50%. And on every other day of my life, you're the other 100%. You are my lifeline, my best friend, and my girly girl. without your endless encouragement; your constant, outright denial of my endless self-doubt, hopelessness, and despair; without both your refusal to leave me in the dust like you shoulda done and your obstinate insistence on dragging my washed-up, loser ass with you towards a bright and beautiful future that I, honestly, have absolutely no business bein somuch's a side-note in -- without any of these things, I would be lost: either dead inside, dead in spirit, relapsed on dope, just straight up dead...

Regardless of the form, you are pretty much the single, sole reason that I'm not a withered husk of myself. Your assistance is beyond appreciated, and I wouldn't even somuch's be alive today if it weren't for you.
